The Hatch Auditorium Grand Opening

Patrons of all ages are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the Hatch Auditorium at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., with events on Tuesday, Jan. 13, and Friday-Sunday, Jan. 16-18.
The Springfield-Greene County Library District is thrilled to unveil this stunning new 500-seat venue, designed to host larger events, unforgettable performances and more opportunities for the community to come together.
The celebration begins with a Hatch Auditorium Ribbon Cutting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Join us for a brief ceremony, with refreshments to follow.
Grand Opening Weekend kicks off with a Teen Silent Disco for ages 12-18 at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16. Wireless headphones will be provided — just bring your best dance moves. Registration is required; visit thelibrary.libnet.info/event/14881709 or call 417-882-0714.
Families with children ages 2-11 are invited to a STEMusic Concert featuring the Singing Engineer, Roy Moye III, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. This high-energy performance combines mind-blowing experiments, math challenges, coding dances and rocket launches in a show where rhythm and science collide.
That evening, adults are invited to Geezer in Concert at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. Dance and sing along to an eclectic mix of tunes from the 1960s to today. Free tickets are required and will be available beginning Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Library Center. Limit four tickets per patron.
The celebration wraps up with Bob Holden’s Community Jazz Ensemble at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. Bob Holden returns with his acclaimed ensemble performing music made famous by Broadway, pop and jazz greats.
All grand opening festivities are made possible by a grant from the Friends of the Library.
