Drop off your "pre-read" books at any of the Library branches
Your donations are sold by the Friends of the Library at book sales throughout the year. Since their first book sale in 1985, the Friends have raised more than $4 million to benefit the Library and made thousands of book lovers happy.
To donate books, drop them off at any branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library during regular library hours. You will receive a receipt listing the number and type of books donated.
Donations at the Library Center should be dropped inside the green shed next to the drive-up service lane. The shed is locked up nightly and closes before the Library does. Ask staff for assistance when the shed is locked by calling (417) 882-0714 or email friends@thelibrary.org.
Individuals with especially large collections or special circumstances may call (417) 616-0564.
