MOBIUS Information

Seniors

Learning is a lifelong pursuit. The Springfield-Greene County Library staff can bring the Library to your senior residents in a monthly program designed to inspire, entertain and engage.

Our themed visits include activities that encourage discussion and pleasant reminiscing, while bringing the fun, educational benefits of the Library to your facility.

Each month, staff presenting Stories for Life can

  • share simple stories

  • provide interactive memory games

  • read poetry

  • furnish visual and tactile stimulation

  • present interesting historical or local information

For more information on Stories for Life, please call Allison Eckhardt at (417) 616-0577.

Stories for Life Kits

Want a meaningful way connect with your loved one? Check out one of the thematic Stories for Life kits from any library branch or the Mobile Library. Each kit was designed and developed by following the principles of person-centered care, which aims to respect the dignity of people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias and reflect their varied interests, life experiences and current abilities.

Other Services

The Library offers many other resources for people with special needs. Many programs provide access to Library materials and services for those who cannot easily travel to the Library. Materials are available for those with vision or hearing impairment, and the Library also provides equipment to assist visitors so they can access facilities and collections.
