About the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch

The Schweitzer Brentwood Branch is a hub of learning, creativity, and community connection. A true neighborhood library, it offers welcoming, modern spaces and hosts a variety of engaging programs—from music, art and writing workshops to book clubs and community forums, plus storytimes, and youth enrichment activities. This renovated branch features many seating options for library patrons to read, collaborate, work, study or relax in light-filled spaces. In addition, the branch features four private study rooms, a bright and airy conference room ideal for small group collaboration, and a spacious community room that accommodates up to 100 guests for programs, meetings, and special events.

Schweitzer Brentwood hosts many of the Library District’s workshops for entrepreneurs and small businesses. These workshops are part of Business Connect, a Library initiative that supports local entrepreneurs and job seekers by connecting them with expert-led workshops, valuable library resources and library staff expertise, and a network of community partners. This program reflects the Library’s commitment to lifelong learning and economic opportunity for all.

Your contribution helps this dynamic library continue to serve with excellence—providing a modern environment that welcomes everyone and evolves alongside the community it proudly supports.

Gift Planning

The renovation of this library branch was made possible in large part by the generosity of Jewell Schweitzer, a dedicated patron of the Brentwood Branch for many decades. The Library Foundation is honored to help donors secure their legacy with conversations about gift planning and estate giving, whether to support their specific branch or the Library District as a whole. To learn more about gift planning, please contact us at (417) 616-0460 or visit our Gift Planning page.
