Honor a Loved One
with a Memorial Gift to the Library Foundation

When someone you love passes away, honoring their legacy can bring comfort and meaning during a difficult time. A memorial gift to the Springfield-Greene County Library Foundation is a thoughtful way to celebrate a life well lived while supporting library programs and services that inspire learning, creativity, and community connection.

Memorial Gifts in Obituaries

If you wish to designate the Library Foundation in an obituary, we recommend wording such as:

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield-Greene County Library Foundation, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65810 or online at foundation.thelibrary.org/donate.

Gifts can be directed to a specific library branch, existing endowment fund, or to support the Library Foundation’s area of greatest need. If no preference is noted, gifts will be directed where they can make the greatest impact.

If you have a specific branch or fund you’d like to highlight in the obituary, please feel free to contact us for exact language or guidance.

Honor with a Bookplate

For gifts of $25 or more, you may choose to have a memorial bookplate placed in a book in the Library’s circulating collection. Each plate includes the name of your loved one and serves as a lasting tribute.

You can request this option when making your online donation or by contacting the Foundation office.
