September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and there’s never been a better time to get a library card. Or encourage someone you know to get a card. This year, we’re celebrating with six exclusive, limited-edition library card designs — collectible, fun, and only available while supplies last. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or new to the stacks, we’ve got a card that fits your style.

It’s also the perfect time to sign your kids up for their very own library card and open the door to a world of books, programs and imagination. Don’t miss your chance to get a card as unique as you are!

Getting a library card is easy.

  • Library cards are issued free of charge to residents of Greene County, Missouri.

  • Stop by any branch library or the Mobile Library to pick up a registration form.

  • Adults, please bring a valid form of identification and an additional proof of address.

  • Teens and children 17 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to register for a library card.

  • Residents outside of Greene County can get a library card for an annual $80 fee. For more information, please visit any library branch or the Mobile Library.

Want to trade in your existing card for one of these fun designs – no problem, drop by and we can issue a new card in your preferred design.

Refer a friend to get a card, and you could win a prize. Remind your friend to mention your name and phone number when they register.
