The Springfield-Greene County Library District has recently contracted with Paragon Architecture to conduct a comprehensive facilities assessment of the system’s ten facilities. Paragon Architecture was selected following a request for proposals in October 2025. This study aligns with the Library District’s 2026-2030 strategic plan goal of providing aesthetically pleasing, functional spaces.
Paragon will provide a facility analysis of the district’s owned and leased facilities to determine short- and long-term maintenance needs over the next 10 years. The study will estimate the cost and type of maintenance or capital improvement needed at each facility. In addition to analyzing existing facilities, Paragon will prepare a footprint assessment and a population trend analysis.
The study will begin soon, and the findings will be reported to the Library’s Board of Trustees in late Spring. Executive Director Ed Walton stated, “Our vision is to be a thriving library that is an integral part of the lives of the community. This study will help us determine the future of our existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for future growth.”
