Library Foundation Receives Funding to Ramp Up Rosie Book Club

The Library Foundation has received a generous gift from Dr. Nancy O’Reilly and Women Connect4Good, Inc. to enhance the Rosie Book Club, a joint offering of Leadership Springfield and the Springfield-Greene County Library District. This $18,800 grant will significantly enhance the program, ensuring access and increasing awareness and engagement. 

The Rosie Book Club meets every other month to discuss fiction and non-fiction titles by women. The meetings are held primarily at women-owned businesses. This gift will cover the costs of food at each discussion meeting, fund small incentives or door prizes, and help raise awareness of the Rosie Book Club to encourage consistent participation and make the program accessible to those who might otherwise face financial or logistical obstacles. This funding will also support an annual author visit in the newly opened Library Center Hatch Auditorium and provide books to encourage regular participation. 

            Open to everyone, the Rosie Book Club reflects Rosie’s commitment to inclusivity, mentorship and practical support. It creates opportunities for networking, skill-building and personal growth without the barriers of dues, membership requirements or sales expectations.
