We’d like to inform you about an upcoming change to the process for requesting materials from other libraries. Beginning July 1, our library will transition from using MOBIUS to Tipasa – an interlibrary loan system that connects us to a nationwide network of 10,000 libraries. Tipasa offers an upgrade from our previous system, providing a more user-friendly experience and giving you greater control over your interlibrary loan requests.
What does this mean for you?
You’ll be able to directly request from an even larger selection of books and other materials we don’t own.
You can request items with the click of a button
You can track the progress of your request.
You can request renewal of your items online.
You’ll still be notified by email or letter when your items are ready for pickup.
We have enjoyed our longstanding relationship with MOBIUS. However, we have made the difficult decision to switch providers.
We’re here to make this transition as smooth as possible! In the meantime, you can continue borrowing books through Interlibrary Loan. Closer to release, we’ll provide information on how to set up your Tipasa account and use the new features.
Thank you for your patience and continued support as we improve to better serve your needs. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Interlibrary Loan staff at 417-616-0529 or ill@thelibrary.org.
