A world of color awaits during the 2025 Summer Reading Program. We have vibrant programs and colorful performers with reading challenges for all ages.

Beginning June 1, pick up a game board at any library branch or the Mobile Library, or log on to thelibrary.org/summerreading and follow the links to register for the reading program that fits you. Start logging reading minutes and complete the activities to earn great prizes.

Why summer reading? It helps kids and teens maintain and grow their reading skills during the summer and encourages families with babies, toddlers and preschoolers to develop healthy early literacy habits. And it’s FUN! Kids who get to read for fun are more motivated to keep the habit going.

Listening to books counts too! Hearing books read out loud is the most important early literacy experience for babies through pre-readers. Even once kids start learning to read on their own, listening is the best way to grow their comprehension skills.

  • Prizes! Tiny Tots & Preschoolers, Kids and Teens can earn a Fresh Start Fine Waiver Card upon completing their first activity – as soon as June 1. Free book and Summer Youth Passport can be picked up beginning June 9 through August 9 at any library branch or the Mobile Library.

  • Keep reading! Earn Star Reader entries in the end-of-summer drawings. Prizes include book bags, coupons for free books, gift cards and more!

  • Be amazed by magicians, musicians and more at the programs planned for you. Pages X-X.

  • Explore our community at Fantastic Fridays.

Thank you to our Youth Summer Passport sponsors!
