Summer Reading Program Activities for Adults

Adventure Begins at Your Library! Complete at least five activities—you can choose from our list or create your own!


Take our Adult Summer Reading Survey.

Activities
  • Attend a craft/history/travel/etc. program.

  • Attend a book discussion.

  • Create a painting or piece of art based on a book you've read.

  • Choose a book with a cover that is your favorite color.

  • Attend First Friday Art Walk.

  • Write a poem about a color.

  • Walk part or all of the Springfield Sculpture Walk.

  • Redesign your favorite book's cover and share it with the library.

  • Plant a summer flower.

  • Take a nature walk.

  • Take a class on CreativeBug, available at thelibrary.org.

  • Visit one of the street murals around Springfield.

  • Download the Springfield-Greene County Library app.

  • Read a graphic novel.

  • Read a book about a famous artist

  • Draw something that you see in nature and send it to imagine@thelibrary.org.

  • Like and follow the library on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.

  • Find a new book by using Your Next Read. thelibrary.org/yournextread.

  • Checkout a book on Libby or Hoopla.

  • Create a vision board for your goals.

  • Make a trip to the Library Express East or West and check something out.

  • Visit a different Springfield-Greene County Library Branch.

  • Experiment with different art techniques.

  • Color your "Color Our World" color sheet.

  • Create your own!
