for Teens in Grades 6-12
Adventure Begins at Your Library! Complete at least 8 activities—you can choose from our list or create your own! Feel free to repeat any of theses activities and adapt them to fit your needs.
Take our Summer Reading Survey.
Volunteer with an organization in your community.
Plan a hike with your friends and family.
Read a book that's different from what you usually choose. Try a new genre, format (audiobook or ebook) or author!
Ask a friend, your family or someone in your community for a book recommendation. Give them a recommendation of your own.
Make a piece of art with your friends or family. Share it with imagine@thelibrary.org.
Plan a board game night for your friends or family.
Make a list of places you'd like to visit. Use a library resource like a book or a database to research one of them.
Who would you most like to go on an adventure with? Write a story or an essay about what it would be like.
Read a book about a famous adventurer, real or imagined.
Introduce yourself to a librarian at your favorite branch and ask them for book recommendations.
Write a letter or send a card to a friend or family member who lives far away.
Use Your Next Read on the library website to get some personalized book suggestions from your librarians.
Check out a cookbook and make dinner for your family or friends. Send a photo of your dish to imagine@thelibrary.org.
Create a Vision Board for your goals.

Listen to an audiobook!
