About this Branch
The Library Express West is the Springfield-Greene County Library District’s first 24-hour kiosk, where patrons can browse and check out books, DVDs and audiobooks with their library card any hour of the day, seven days a week. It can hold a small collection of items for children, teens and adults. Patrons can scan their library card or key in their card number to access materials. The vending unit is under a lighted canopy, so you can use it any time of the day or night, in any weather.
Library Express West exists to serve all patrons, especially residents and businesses across west Springfield. From its location on the parking lot of Orchard Plaza at 3872 W. Chestnut Expressway, it is within walking distance of the Max and Una Lilley Park and several neighborhoods and businesses; and it is next to a Springfield City Utilities bus stop.
The kiosk was manufactured by EnvisionWare, and is made possible with a grant from the Friends of the Library, with additional support from a Library Services and Technology Act grant through the State Library.
