Make a Shape

Find print everywhere. Play with words and letters.
PLAY
Make a Shape
Before children learn alphabet letters, they learn shapes. Before they write, they move their arms and bodies. Draw some giant shapes on the sidewalk with chalk or make some on the floor with tape. Walk around them, jump in them, drive cars over them or play in any way you like. Shapes and big body movement are important steps to learning letters and writing!
SING
Draw a Shape
(As you do this rhyme together, draw the shapes in the air with your finger.)
Draw a rectangle, draw a rectangle,
Shaped like a window.
Draw a rectangle, draw a rectangle,
With corners four.
Draw a circle, draw a circle,
Round as can be.
Draw a circle, draw a circle,
Just for me.
Draw a triangle, draw a triangle,
With corners three.
Draw a triangle, draw a triangle,
Just for me.
