Explore the Outdoors and Take a StoryWalk®!

For infants-age 9

Get outdoors and enjoy books and nature at our StoryWalks®! Pages of a children's picture book are displayed on signs along a path so that families can read the book, page by page, as they walk. StoryWalks® combine three important elements that promote learning: reading, moving, and enjoying the outdoors.

StoryWalks® are accessible during park hours. For details, please call the host site.

  • May 6-19 Look and Listen by Dianna White Howard Smith Community Park, 408 E. Bumgarner Blvd., Strafford

  • May 20-June 2 Hey, Water! by Antoinette Portis Watershed Center, 2400 E. Valley Water Mill Road, Springfield. This StoryWalk® is along an unpaved path.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
