All Aboard the Frisco — Get an overview of The Frisco: A Look Back at the Saint Louis-San Francisco Railway, a digital exhibit of postcards, photos, employee cards and searchable employee magazines and learn tips for using the site for genealogical and local history research. Book Discussion — "The Harvey Girls: Women Who Opened the West" by Lesley Poling-Kempes. Interviews, historical research and photos recreate the experience of the Harvey Girls -- women who came to the west to work as waitresses in the renowned Santa Fe Railroad restaurant chain established by Fred Harvey. Many Harvey Girls married and stayed in the west, helping to found cattle and mining towns. For more information, contact the Library at (417) 865-1340.

"Old Timers" Roundtable — Eight former employees of the Frisco will discuss what it was like to work for the railroad. The participants will also take questions from the audience. The event will be videotaped and become part of the permanent archive of the History Museum.

Murder on the Texas Special — The Orient Express isn't the only train with secrets. Board the historic Texas Special on its way from St. Louis to San Antonio and investigate not one, but several mysteries.
