Position: Volunteer Gift Shop Clerk

The Volunteer Gift Shop Sales Clerk will be responsible
for assisting with the receiving, stocking, display
and sales of gift shop merchandise.

| Responsibilities Include: |
- Assisting customers with the selection of gift items
for sale.
- Ringing up cash and credit card sales using computerized
cash register.
- Assisting with the monitoring of inventory and restocking
shelves and displays as needed.
- Gift wrapping of customer merchandise.
- Assisting with the receiving, unboxing and pricing
of new merchandise.

| Requirements: |
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact pleasantly, constructively and
cooperatively with customers and staff.
- Some knowledge of retail sales, or cashiering is
preferred. (Some training will be provided)
- Ability to effectively listen to and respond to
customer inquiries.
- Ability to provide service during times of high
customer volume.
- Ability to follow instructions, and work with minimal
supervision.

| Physical Demands: |
- Displays good coordination and mobility, and the
ability to hear questions from customers and respond
appropriately.
- Ability to stand for moderate duration, ability
to bend and stretch and reach shelves.
- Ability to see numbers on cash register and ability
to read prices on merchandise.

| Working Environment: |
- Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated
in a general library environment.

| Miscellaneous Requirements: |
- Must be able to pass a security background check,
if applicable.
